# Token Burn

### Strategic Token Burn

The second, and proportionally bigger, use of the $USDC received by the Modus Treasury from project listing fees will be used to programmatically buy back $MODUS tokens from the market and burn them. 

$USDC from the Modus Treasury will be sent to an address that programmatically buys $MODUS tokens and burn them over an extended period of time; consequently, providing predictable buying patterns and preventing large market fluctuations through large buy orders. Tokens are considered “burned” when they have been purposely and permanently removed from circulation by transfer to an inaccessible publicly verifiable “burn address”.
